LGB Bike Casual
CASUAL BIKE RIDES FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO ENJOY FRANCE THE 'SOFT' WAY
This is for the intermediate rider intent on spending as much time in the saddle as off. An opportunity to discover the Luberon. One day we may venture out early for morning coffee and croissant, stop, shop and buy local produce. We will visit markets, churches, dismount and explore, take in the spectacular views, pause for a group photo and return to LGB for lunch. The next we may stay out the whole day, ride 50-60kms either side of a delicious picnic, tables and chairs, cat-nap middle of nowhere, to then return to LGB mid/late afternoon.
Non riding partners are welcome. Alternatively for those determined to get involved we encourage electric bikes which can be rented locally. There is plenty to explore either on foot, four wheels or two, locally or further afield. Alternatively enjoy the peace and quiet of LGB, sit by the pool and read a good book.
The same road need never be ridden twice and the Luberon provides for fantastic cycling for intermediates and above cyclists. Every endeavour will be made to organise groups of similar standard and level of fitness. Alternatively please be encouraged to assemble your own group of friends of a similar standard and fitness and we will work with you. All things are possible, the schedule flexible, the biking options innumerable, the road surfaces are top rate and Mt Ventoux some 30 kms distant.
On market days (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) the group can visit the markets on bikes, stopping to purchase local produce, pause for coffee and a second breakfast, explore a little before pushing on. Evening meals are at LGB but there are a number of restaurants locally if the group prefers.
A flexible schedule includes:
- Cycling, walking, yoga and massage (by appointment)
- A day spent on Mont Ventoux
- Rides include French markets on Saturday, Sunday and Monday
- Ride picnics or morning/evening rides depending on the schedule and appetite
- Experienced ride guide will be in attendance throughout the rides to offer encouragement and advice,
- Support vehicle will be at the end of a phone call or in pursuit depending on the nature of the ride
- Printed route guides or downloadable Garmin files of each days ride are provided

What People Say About LGB
From my perspective, it was a great week of cycling, exploring and taking in Mt Ventoux without too much pressure …. Cycling at LGB was a great week and a unique experience, I would do it again in a shot.
Riding, some great routes, and I loved every single km. Ventoux day was the closest thing I’ve had to road cycling heaven for a while, please change nothing about this day. Overall I had a fantastic time and would come back in a heart-beat.
Yoga - this was a good activity to have as part of the week, as a separate but complimentary activity to the cycling itself and something that the non-riding partners could take part in.
In short, the week was a triumph of hospitality, organisation and efficiency
The scenery alone you shared with us was beyond all expectations, never the same road twice and the number of cars I could count on two hands’
Your stylish and amiable leadership, the superb support from Iain, Rich and the kitchen staff, the relaxed beauty and comfort of LGB, the surrounding countryside, the food, the wine, the laughter, the yoga, the magnificent cycling and off course the essential mix of very good company made it a cocktail of joy. It was a 5 Star experience
I thought the mixture of cycling, markets and walks was superb and it is such a spectacular part of the country. The food was delicious and having Iain to help with the yoga and photo us and Rich to fix the bikes was great. It all makes for an excellent formula
The bike rides were brilliantly planned and efficiently and responsibly orchestrated …. it was just the perfect way to experience the provencal countryside. There was just the right mix of exercise, site seeing, chilling and of course dining. Each day we were presented with the most amazing gourmet, provencal delicacies
